I always found people who take pictures with the middle finger as a trashy gesture. I don’t and never know who they’re trying to tell off but it’s out of no where and just stupid. It doesn’t offend me, I just find it a pointless gesture and therefore - trashy.

He’s just quickly sharing something he dislikes that crossed his mind, not going on a five-page rant about the German stare or crocs. Is that your reaction to anything that isn’t “nice”? To each their own, I guess, but I enjoy my two minutes of (very soft) hate here and there…

Obsessing what finger other people use on their phone is not healthy regardless length of post. How do you even notice? Why is it inside OPs mind?

And for being an overwhelmingly leftist community, it is quite hypocritical to be judging people for trivial superficialities that affects absolutely nothing or nobody.

      A finger. On a phone.

I can judge how the wind feels on my face, doesn’t mean I’m obsessed with it. And one can think someone is morally upright/prosocial/nice and still think they’re doing something trashy, it’s not so all or nothing like that. But okay.

You… project societal values on weather?

Well, you got me there. I’m going to take my dog for a walk in the chivalry sun with a light arrogant breeze and enjoy the day without injecting myself in other peoples casual business.

      the German stare

      The what now?

      https://berlinpoche.de/en/german-stare

      What Is “The German Stare”?

The German stare refers to the tendency of people in Germany to look at others openly, directly, and for longer periods of time than what’s considered normal in many other cultures.

In countries like the US, UK, or Canada:

      • Prolonged eye contact = confrontation, flirting, or danger
      • Looking at strangers too long = rude

      In Germany:

      • Prolonged eye contact = neutral observation

      Huh.
