I always found people who take pictures with the middle finger as a trashy gesture. I don’t and never know who they’re trying to tell off but it’s out of no where and just stupid. It doesn’t offend me, I just find it a pointless gesture and therefore - trashy.

    The German stare refers to the tendency of people in Germany to look at others openly, directly, and for longer periods of time than what’s considered normal in many other cultures.

    In countries like the US, UK, or Canada:

    • Prolonged eye contact = confrontation, flirting, or danger
    • Looking at strangers too long = rude

    In Germany:

    • Prolonged eye contact = neutral observation

    Huh.
