As long as “stop interfering in the primaries” isn’t on the table, you’ll pretend anything is fair.

Who makes up the democratic party?

      Winners of democratic primaries

      Who holds them accountable?

      Democratic primary voters.

It’s not fair. It’s politics. If you don’t like it, feel free to negotiate with non electoral tactics and strategies. I can suggest labor organizing and work stoppages to start.

You get the candidates you want, so you don’t see anything wrong with a party that interferes with its own primaries to override the will of the people.

You’re not getting railroaded, so it’s not a problem as far as you’re concerned.

Of course it’s a problem. How do you solve problems in politics?

          Shit posting online?

Or voting for candidates that will solve the problem?

There are other options, but they are not as easy as voting.

            I know! False dichotomies!

People can vote and also be critical of a party that keeps betraying them. Let me know when you get some of those candidates that are interested in solving problems. I see precious few of them, and am very much looking forward to voting for Talarico this November. I haven’t seen much in the way of attempts by centrists to sink his campaign since his opponent in the primaries was also a progressive, and his messaging actually has some thought behind it.

I know this thread’s about Lucy with the football, but that’s every election in Texas. “Maybe this time a democrat will win.” But holy fuck, can you imagine if a progressive took Texas of all places? It would instantly and permanently destroy the self-serving “progressives can’t win anywhere but the bluest states” narrative of the entrenched centrist hegemony.
