The Battle of Alcatraz, which lasted from May 2 to 4, 1946, was the result of an escape attempt at Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary by armed convicts. Two Federal Bureau of Prisons officers—William A. Miller and Harold Stites—were killed, Miller by inmate Joseph Cretzer who attempted escape and Stites by friendly fire. Three inmates were killed during the incident.

Pretty gross Wikipedia’s description names the two LEOs killed and not the convicts.
Under the section for the leaders of each side. The six men who led the escape include the three killed in the attempt, two more executed for their roles, and Clarence Carnes.
Bernard Coy †.
Joseph Cretzer †.
Marvin Hubbard †.
Sam Shockley Executed.
Miran Thompson Executed.
Clarence Carnes Surrendered.
Yeah, of course the info is there. I just mean the very first summary text that states “Two Federal Bureau of Prisons officers—William A. Miller and Harold Stites—were killed, Miller by inmate Joseph Cretzer who attempted escape and Stites by friendly fire. Three inmates were killed during the incident.”
It reads as though it’s giving more weight to the dead LEOs than prisoners.
Make an edit. Give them their names back at the end of the paragraph.
Honestly good point.
