My daughter 🥹 I thank my wife all the time. It was something we both wanted, but I am infinitely grateful ❤️

My parents were shitty gift people. Always things like clothes I don’t want or gift certificates. Then I met my wife. She sucks at it too. She takes a trip to Target the day before and just buys junk that she thinks I would like.

I play Tears of the Kingdom a lot with my 8 year old. She loves it. We don’t allow her on YouTube without us, so she always forces me to watch TOTK funny videos. This year she got me a blanket with Link on it. I teared up a bit.

I get depressed on my birthday every year. Another year older, not much to show for it.My parents even forgot last year. But this little girl thought about something that she did with me and makes her happy and got it for me. I will cherish it forever.

Before my first birthday after we met I had told my now husband that I wanted to switch to reusable pads. I showed him a brand I had in mind, but they cost 20€ per pad. So, that birthday I got a 200€ gift certificate for the pads so I could buy myself a starter pack. I don’t know what I loved more, the fact that he was so thoughtful or how he proved that he wasn’t one of those guys who get weird when the topic of periods comes up.

Maan reading all those comments. you people make me happy.

My ex gf was the best present maker in my life, she put so much effort into every present and I got the whole nine yards: hand drawn envelopes with pictures of us in them and a few other nice things, she really is thoughtful.

We had a messy breakup over the phone, haven’t talked since then and I did throw away some of our stuff but i couldn’t throw away her handmade presents. Still kinda makes me tear up when I look at them but nowadays it’s in a melancholic way.

My nephew always gives me a drawing of Sonic for my birthday; this is the one from this year. I’m especially fond of it because you can tell his drawing skills have improved.

He’s a huge Sonic fan, just like me. It’s something that brings us together.

When we started dating, my soon-to-be-wife (later this week!) made me a scarf. A couple years later she crocheted me a queen sized blanket. Those two things are genuinely my prized possessions. I’m a sucker for handmade gifts like that.

The greatest gift she ever gave me though was sticking by my side through cancer treatment. I’ll never be able to repay that love and kindness but God knows I’ll spend the rest of my life loving her

My husband got me a splash cymbal for my drum kit as a Christmas present, and on the bottom wrote “a symbol of my love”

I still use it all the time. I love it, and I love the pun. It’s still on my kit, and its been fifteenish years.

When I was 3 months old, my mom gave me a wool blanket with two lion cubs on it. I’m 51 now, and I’m currently warm and cozy under that same blanket. It’s honestly my most prized possession.

Necessary background: When we started dating, both the husband and me were homebodies. As the years have gone by, I’ve developed a taste for going out and experiencing stuff, especially music stuff, that doesn’t even match his taste. Nonetheless I tend to ask him to come along, and he categorigally says no.

He gave me the gift of coming with me to one event of my choosing, per month, for a year. ❤ It was wonderful.

I’m not sure if it’s quite my favorite, but I really love the engraved crystal glasses my in laws gave my wife and I when we told them we’d eloped. They have our wedding date on them which is convenient sometimes as both of us are prone to forgetting

Alternatively when we moved out west one of my best friends gave us as much time as we needed to establish ourselves out here in her guest bedroom. It was uncomfortable leaning on friends like that, but her and her fiancee both made us feel not only welcomed, but like our presence was genuinely appreciated for the month and a half it took us to get our own place. I still tear up thinking about it and about how they still continue to be so amazing to us.

I have this memory of getting a 3x3 Rubik’s cube from mom for… I think either X-Mas or New Years… Not sure if “favorite” but definitely most memorable…

I think this is the only time I didn’t have to “beg” for stuff… usually I only get stuff if I really nagged my parents a lot… and my requests get denied frequently (cuz money issues being a new immigrant) but this time I kinda just mentioned “I want that magic cube thing that I had before, I wanna solve it now”, I mentioned it like with the past two weeks, and she just went ahead and got one for me… (but its those cheap ones with the weird stickers that would eventually fall off… I kinda destroyed it cuz I’m bad at keeping stuff lol, like I broke or lost a lot of things I had) But hey, she didn’t get it because I begged, she actually wanted me to be happy… like that felt more emotional, more like a real gift than just being a “bribe” to keep me quiet and stop being annoying.

That was during my… I think early teen years, and before that I had a cube in my early childhood like at least few years before, can’t remember much about those earlier cubes I had except as a memory of recalling another memory.

I used to closer to her… I think I just got older and… um… life expectations (careers, sucess, expectation of being able to be independent and acquire wealth and win this game of capitalism)

I got a winter jacket from a work mate. They had went to new york and picked it up on a great deal and I think they decided they did not like it. Its this puffy winter jacket and has this ugly lining but its warm as heck and has lots of pockets so I don’t care how it looks. My guess is they knew I was the one who would not care at all about how it looks. Its falling apart now but my wife has fixed it a few times. She knows how I am about things I like and hate giving them up. I think its actually one of the things she likes about me. I like something and im like linus with his blanket.

A LEGO N1 Starfighter from The Mandalorian that a friend randomly got me for my birthday. They also got me a sweet camera bag. I’ve never had anyone know me well enough, and pick such good gifts accordingly, before or since.
