HELLDIVERS 2 from Arrowhead Game Studios and PlayStation Publishing had a major update released, which broke it on Linux / SteamOS systems but Valve fixed it.

It was an impressively quick fix. I wasn’t alone in having it break HDR according to the official discord. Hopefully it’s fully fixed with the next proton-ge release.

Edit: After getting help from discord, switching to gamescope gets HDR working again.

If I buy this on steam can I transfer my ps5 save, or is cross progression still not a thing?

No and I doubt we’ll ever have that option.

Side question: is this game good for single players at all? I know it’s a multiplayer game, but are there bots, or do I need friends?

It’s strictly multiplayer but it’s also a PvE game and the community is generally pretty great at helping out new players. There isn’t much toxicity in my 200ish hours of experience, come across the occasional troll that team kills but the host can boot people so they get kicked pretty fast. It is more fun with friends, but I probably have around half my playtime just playing with randoms and I always have a great time.

Definitely recommend giving it a shot!

Completely different game solo. Stealth is more viable and necessary. I prefer full squad, personally.
