      It’s a tough call.

Besides the 2 nutso MAGA R’s who are definitely not getting my vote, I’m undecided.

The Democrats are all fairly similar IMO, and they all have their flaws:

      • Steyer is a billionaire with zero experience who has bought his way to the front of the pack,
      • Becerra is your bog standard establishment Democrat,
      • Porter I do like the best, but there are questions about her ability to work with others and of course two viral videos hanging around her neck,
      • Mahan has the administration experience as Mayor of San Jose, but has the most techbro money backing him even though he’s far behind in the polls

Porter has been my #1 for the whole time but Ro Khanna and Our Revolution both endorsing Steyer made me ask myself why would they support the billionaire with zero qualifications. And ask myself if I’m missing something about steyer or Porter.

I refused to vote for Lurie in our ranked choice mayoral election because he was a centimillionaire and I now find a lot of his policies similar to London breed, the mayor that he replaced. But I do believe his connections have prevented ICE from terrorizing our streets, and can’t say that breed would have been able to call Trump and talk him out of anything. It begs the question, can billionaires in public office benefit the 99%?

I really wish the state had ranked choice voting for the gubernatorial race.

I saw the Our Revolution endorsement of Steyer too.

Like the other leading D candidates, he’s got good positions.

OR has to play the team game, and choosing the best, less odious choice for a progressive victory.

For the two leading D candidates, Becerra and Steyer:

With Becerra, there are questions about his leadership when they were actually put to the test by COVID-19 during his time as HHS Secretary under Biden.

He wasn’t a serious contender until Swallwell quit, and all of a sudden Becerra jumped from 4 or 5 percent to virtually tied with Steyer, depending on which poll you look at.

All of which I thought was weird.
