Must be nice. Here in the US you can just walk in one day and get told you’re fired and have to clean out your desk.
While I agree that that’s a shitty norm that we have here, it also goes both ways. The first job I had out of college, I had a coworker who was a pretty solid engineer, and kept getting handed random bullshit assignments. She tried for months to get management to stop fucking her over, to no avail. The next time she was in a meeting and they tried to foist another thing on her she was like “ok, nope. I’m done”, left the room, left the building, and never came back.
At the end of the day, there is a hard limit to how far you can push people, and you will definitely know it when you hit it.
We usually have a probation period where each party can just say this isn’t for them. Then they can just terminate the work agreement from one day to the next. It’s usually a few months.
