    Someone thought they had discovered something and claimed to have proof.

    No one remembers what it was.

    There’s a Wikipedia article about the fact no one remembers.

    This is so weird.

        That one’s really incredible. A 17th century person discovers something and we find out he was right by the end of the 20th? Did I understand right?
