Something like retro news, on this day in the year X, something interesting, etc would draw more people than old news, even historic news would probably get more activity than old news

I don’t know of a specific “old news” community but I see a lot of historical content posted on the Wikipedia, History, historyphotos, and similar communities. I guess it would depend on which historical event you wanted to share.

or you could start an “old news” (“olds”?) community just for them
