I haven’t been watching much in terms of actual shows for a good while, then while listening to a podcast a host casually mentioned they had rewatched Chernobyl, how it still holds up, that there’s a reason it got as much acclaim as it did, etc. So I thought I’d give it a go and wow, loved it (still one episode left to watch).

Had me thinking, what else have I missed out on? What are some “absolute cinema” TV shows that still hold up and and are considered must watch?

    Arcane and Devil May Cry.

    For Arcane, you don’t need to know shit about League of Legends. It is a good story on it’s own.

    Devil May Cry is an action comedy with good story writing.

      I tried to watch Arcane but the art style hits right in the uncanny valley.

        I think the art style is fantastic, but wonder how incredible it could have been with a Pixar-like budget and timescale. The animation can be a little janky at times, but I think they did a phenomenal job with what they had. So much detail, so much nuance, so much grandeur. That said, I can understand where it might be a turnoff for some folks, as it is a bit different.
