I completely block them with DNS and have considered IP blocks as well. I prefer it this way because in iOS it’s not just Google apps and websites contacting Google, it’s all sorts of third-party apps and websites too.
In fact I learned the hard way that cellular carriers in the US have given up on RCS deployments and defer it all to Google: you have to specifically unblock some Google servers if you want RCS to work on iOS.
Shutting doors when the A/C or heater is on. Apparently closing doors behind you is rocket science out here in California.

I get like this if I have a good weekend, trip or vacation. It’s supposedly supposed to make you feel better in life but for me the stress beforehand (if it’s a big trip) and the depression afterward almost make it easier to bury my head in work and not peak too far outside my little bubble.

I don’t see myself ever owning a home. I’m in Los Angeles making ~$100k per year. I have friends who’ve tried to save and make down payments toward properties for sale but they always fell through.

Personally I’d really like to see more servers physically located in privacy and free-speech friendly places like Switzerland and Iceland (for example). I’m not sure why you’d want to have your social media hosted anywhere else.
I just use multiple VPN tunnels with the first two hops still in the US (so it doesn’t look like I’m going offshore) with random delays along the way (to avoid timing attacks) to a Lemmy instance in a privacy-friendly country.
They could probably still figure out who I am if they tried hard enough though.
