  • For example: Wine

I get what you’re saying, and it’s true, but “wine” is a horrible choice…

It can take five years for a vine to produce wine grapes. And even after they’re harvested, its a long process where lots can go wrong.

It wasn’t that people really thought no one could make better wine than France, it’s that no one else was consistently doing it yet. Everyone knew if Cali vineyards kept at it, they’d eventually level the playing field.

Most of the “outcry” about the result, was in France and made by the insanely wealthy people who owned the French vineyards

  • Glory Road is begging for an adaption, even tho a bunch of other stories have ripped off the premise. Like, it’ll be a “new” story to you, but you’re going to constantly see shit that other writers ripped off in the 60 years since it was published.

It’s Heinlein pulp SciFi too, so you can legit read it all in a day.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glory_Road

If you like that and want more, he wrote a shit ton of novels about “Lazarus Long”. Like, true old school 1960s sci Fi where the books weren’t telling a single coherent story, he just had to keep pumping out pages so he kept coming up with new stories.

There’s also “Stranger in a Strange land” which was known as “The hippie bible” during the height of the counter-culture movement, despite being about a man raised by Martians who returns to Earth.

    Just anything by Heinlein really

  • OP’s profile:

    Working on Plebbit

For those who don’t know, that was a shitty hard right wing social media that kept talking vaguely about how it was like crypto and torrenting.

For years now people have been spamming it to the threadiverse and trying to trick people into joining.

If you go to this website:

    https://bitsocial.net/

    It lists 5chan as inspiration…

And people are upvoting and promoting this entirely unmoderated chan board because two seconds of research is too difficult…

Like, c’mon people, critical thinking is important now more than ever

    Quick edit:

And to be clear this is the exact same project OP always spams, they just keep changing the name of it. It used to be accessible over the web tho, which allowed everyone to see the fucking horrendously racist, bigoted, and outright illegal shit they want people to be able to post.

  • Then she was paid to slap her name on it…

    Another thing that’s not new.

Look at her GitHub account, this is the only thing it’s ever done, and she’s never, ever, talked about any sort of coding before as far as I’m aware.

It’s still an obvious grift/scam, regardless of if she’s involved.

Like, it’s clearly an add, what the fuck is she doing “extensive filing for months” for?

How does any of this seem organic to you?

  • Someone copied an existing repo as a scam/grift.

Often when they do this, they name it after a random celebrity.

In rare cases, this generates buzz and uninformed people spread it around the internet. Usually when it’s just a screenshot of a screenshot being passed around on social media.

I’d like to say most people are smart enough to realize all that, but it’s just doesn’t seem to be as true as it used to be.

    Edit:

This is the crypto tech to who actually made it, and likely paid a celeb to create a GitHub account and post an Instagram ad:

Ben Sigman is an AI agent orchestrator, systems engineer, author, and Bitcoin advocate. He builds AI-powered products and agent systems, including XAVIOR — an AI operating system running 10 custom fine-tuned models — and the open source memory system mempalace.

He conceived and leads Libre, Bitcoin’s first decentralized two-way lending marketplace, and is the bestselling co-author of Bitcoin One Million, ranked #1 in Macroeconomics, Monetary Policy, and Bitcoin categories. He is also the co-creator of Bitcoin Alpha, the invite-only Bitcoin unconference series.

Ben designed the giant orange shark sculpture, “Apex Predator of Money” — a bold symbol proposed as Bitcoin’s new mascot as featured in Decrypt.

With over 20 years in technology, his work spans AI agents, Bitcoin, and open finance.

If these grifts aren’t obvious to someone, they desperately need to pay more attention.

It took like 2 seconds to get to the bottom of this.

  • Because having AI hallucinate changes more than the resolution…

If you want to slop everything up before you post it…

Most people are going to downvote for too many various valid reasons to list out.

There’s a few militantly pro-AI instances, and they’ll van anyone that down votes you for any reason.

I suggest you go there, because they’re the most blocked places on the fediverse.

You can post slop to your heart’s content, and the few people who see it won’t have any problems with it

You get your safe place, no one else gets slop shoved down their throats.

    Everyone wins.

  • all we’d see are low effort jokes

Well, we could take a quick look at PugJesus’ profile to see if it fits the quality/quantity point you’re making…

Almost every post to meme communities they moderate…

    That’s “quality content” for you?

Or do you think them cranking out ~30 posts and ~20 comments a day, every day, is a bit spammy?

If you think it’s all that high quality (they do seem to all be lengthy) that’s almost nonstop dedication from that account to continuously post to Lemmy.

But most people don’t just think “more and longer means better comment”.
