No defense needed because everyone died after a series of unfortunate disasters struck in rapid succession and there was no hope of self-rescue or Earth-based rescue. Mars is an exercise in unhinged hubris that will end in mass death at least if it is attempted in the foreseeable future. The logistics are far beyond anything we have ever attempted nevermind succeeded at, and Martian nature makes Mother nature look like the kind gentle mothering figure she actually is in comparison. If you think she can be harsh with what she’s going to do to us over climate change, just wait until we see how cruelly the rest of the universe is going to treat us.

0·26 days agoI’m always open to somebody’s redemption arc, even if I dislike them. The great thing about people is that we are capable of growth, even if not all of us always grow in the right direction, we always can.
The problem is, even “10 people ordered released” is explicitly not the same thing as “10 people released” when the government just ignores the courts, which is what they’re doing. It’s not that hard to get the courts to agree that this is illegal, because it is. It’s much harder to get ICE to comply with the laws.
It’s great that he’s trying, but are any of these people actually released now? That’s the critical question. If they’re not actually being released, then all these things he’s doing and encouraging others to do is performative. And that’s the problem, people think they’re “helping” when in reality, it has gone beyond that. People need to understand how deep the corruption actually is and how much damage has already been done. The systems of democracy and justice we used to rely on are no longer reliable, and it’s counterproductive to still believe they are in the face of the evidence that reality is providing.

0·3 months ago“Cheap?” Depends on your definition, but go for Prusa. Open specs, open ecosystem, open software, open upgrades. Tinkering is still completely possible (in some ways even easier) but unlike Ender 3 it is never actually necessary. The damn things just work, all the time, every time. They’re workhorses. Best of both worlds, in my opinion.

I use the same, I just forget about it because I hate and so rarely use my phone, haha.
