cool, i love the other 2 “Loathing” games, but didn’t know there was a third one and it’s free too!

As a 46 yo my preference would be from about 28 to 55. Any younger would probably be too exhausting for me, any older would probably not be attractive enough for me, although that hypothesis is completely untested. Since I am freshly divorced, i do not have any desire to start dating anytime soon.

I do not agree to your premise that we can’t do anything against your scenario. It’s simply a matter of moderation or the lack thereof. Compromised Instances will sooner than later get defederated.

Best Example: lemmygrad.ml or lemmy.ml - those are the instances of the lemmy coders, which are hard auth-left, and even they got defederated by most of the fediverse, and piefed was created (besides other reasons) to get a codebase that isn’t dependent on russia-apologists.

That series was actually awesome to watch, and the theme hits the spot. Would rewatch if there weren’t tons of great series i haven’t seen yet.

The “swing to the hard right” comes as soon as more normies arrive. There are basically two ways this goes:

a) badly behaved normies get the boot. comes with the side effect of keeping the cost for instance admins low and the work for mod teams small, but also means that we stay a niche. I have no issues with this.

b) normies come here and do as they always do. this is your scenario. Since normies - since they are normies - will simply swarm to single instances, as we saw at the API exodus, the rest of the fediverse will sooner or later defederate from those single instances if they aren’t able to keep their normie horde in check. This is fine, actually. If i really want to look at something only the normies are talking about, i can simply fire up my normie-instance account and see all i want.

Since we have a simple mechanism of keeping badly behaved instances in check, i cannot see how your scenario actually comes to fruit.

• Everyone can create an instance (Well, at least anyone who can pay for a domainname and hosting, which is the basic requirement for every webservice)
• As default, instances federate with each other
• Instances that are bad neighbors get defederated

That’s it, basically. Even if someone bought up all instances and domainnames (which would require that server admins sell them, which i can’t see many doing, or else they wouldn’t run a fediverse service in the first place), there’s nothing stopping you from creating a new instance outside of the control of this person the same day. It literally cannot be simply taken over by, say, Microsoft.

But it is how the fediverse works dude. you really shouldn’t talk about stuff you don’t have at least a basic understanding of, at least while being as condescending as you are currently.

There is no “algorithm” except if you sort by all, you get all, sorted by timestamp; if you choose “subscribed”, you get your subscribed communities, sorted by timestamp (both subject to “interesting” sorting when federation glitches out). It’s not like facebook or twitter where the “algorithm” is programmed to maximize engagement.

There was no personal attack in the completely true statement that in the fediverse, you get the front page YOU yourself choose, starting with choosing where you create your account because it defines what other servers your home instance connects to for federation.

Your understanding of the technical basis of the fediverse is lacking - and this is not a personal attack, it is what you publicly demonstrate.

In my opinion, MJ probably was an pedophile in the truest sense of the word. He enjoyed cuddling and simply being close to them, and actually caring about them, which also means he would never actually hurt them. It reminds me of furry cuddle piles. If he would have been born later, he would have an fursona for sure.

My 2 cents: She was 11 when the movie was shot - it’s one thing to replace a 16 year old with a 18 year old actor, even with a similar story, but there is not one 18 (or even 16) year old you could put into that role and say it’s still the same movie. The psychological impact of being confronted with literally a child’s body in this context is not comparable in my opinion.

I am already prepared by having about 20TB Fitgirl Releases, and a complete collection of NES/SNES/GBA/NDS/Mega Drive/SegaCD/PSX/PS2 games.

which reminds me that i still have to get the PS2 games in a format where i can play them without rummaging through giant archives urgh

As i am blessed with really great bread here in Austria, the only thing more annoying about bread is the extra weight/bulk compared to cheese.

That’s why I said go voluntarily if you need to. It sucks, but it’s better than the alternative. I know psych wards have a bad rep, but i can assure you that it helped me when i was at my lowest point in my life.

Especially if you consider self-harm, it is very important to be honest with your therapist. Even if it leads to an extended stay in a psych ward, that’s better than throwing your life away.

When my depression took over so hard that i was sitting in my room with a knife in my hand and pondering cutting open my wrists, instead i went directly to the psych ward and institutionalized myself for 3 months, until my medication and therapy made me stable enough to leave without danger. Without this step, i would probably not be here anymore and would have caused untold pain to my surroundings. It led to many happy memories in my life which i wouldn’t have experienced.
