Either is fine.
I tend towards ubuntu lts pro with automatic upgrades and reboots. Much like the guide you mention pretty much everything targets ubuntu lts.

There’s frankly far too much good music for me to even process.
I have a signal group called ‘music’ where friends post music, that alone would cover most of my needs.
I tend to either listen to albums or shuffle my whole library but like a bit of internet radio too.
I spent maybe 2yrs trying to deal with the cluterfuck of Spotify and it’s algorithms…kill it with fire. I have to deal with it at parties n stuff but helps me appreciate it’s not just my algorithm, those that love it and have been honing it for many years are being fed the same shite that came out of mine.
The idea that someone is struggling to find music that has an internet just seems insane to me, like saying how do you find porn, news or cat pics with computer.
I assumed it was just something people tended to learn to avoid doing.

Reading over a few hundred years of witch trials in Europe pretty good for some absolutely batshit hysterical ‘justice’.

Both? Rip it digitally, rip via dubbing, sell the OG as is and offer dubs and maybe even cleaned up versions. A friend was selling Spotify playlists slapped on tapes for a bit, the worst of both worlds to me but peeps seemed to like them.
I’ve got Portishead - Dummy in my deck at the moment, the tape is as old as the album is, I’ve binned most stuff that got this distorted but Dummy with ancient tape distortion is aging like a fine wine.

Thanks,
I noticed earlier today, fat fingers I think, and switched it back. I imagine I will now exist as a kinda cyborg on the fediverse for a bit.

I found soto zazen helpful here, learning how to sit still for several hours useful in getting to know basic body mechanics.
I still do rudimentary kung fu, tai chi, chi gung and aikdo bits I’ve picked up from good teachers over.
Swimming also useful as a full body, but low stress on joints, option.
The weather is grim here much of the year but even a few hours barefoot at the beach, park, garden helps get the feet working too.
Walking also a useful skill to work on.

I’ve got a couple of them.
Preference for plants about the house these days but having younglings can be handy to just to keep up with the lingo, high dpi cat memes, trying to understand why 9,000 loom bands isn’t enough and interacting with local medical services in the witching hour.
I’d borrow some of various ages for a bit first to test the water, owners are often more than happy to outsource them to the point of bearing gifts and wine just for a modicum of reprieve.
Also means I get to text, and even hang out with, my ex on the regular.

Separate drives should avoid most of the issues, if paranoid you can just disconnect a drive when switching.
Depending on what you are using linux for running from a usb drive for that could also be an option, something like AntiX-26 with persistence on a usb stick covers a lot of ground.
Yeah, I’m not about to rush in but I suspect over the next year or so I’ll be letting an llm loose on my old crates to see what happens and MacGyver some sort of Dread Pirate Robot that can run locally and is a frankenstein of beets, plugins and other projects that will eat music and shit albums.
A mishmash of beets and the old ways got me to where I am, navidrome with a bit of mpv & kodi.
I’m currently trying to ignore it and plan to return with a new workflow over the next year or so. Beets will be part of this but also need some python, shell glue and other tools working together, and things are changing at little faster than they once were.
I spent a little time a few months back grabbing NPR and KEXP audio at scale with yt-dlp and having them land with decent tags as navidrome compliant albums and now feel a little more confident incorporating oddities into sacred realm of jazz flacs.
But the one folder to rule them all is still in the planning stages.

Software, but full disclosure: I did go wild and spend £5 on Symfonium a few years back which I don’t grudge.
The Internet’s been doing that for decades, it’s fine.
