Perhaps he was of the mindset that he would’ve been better off without the Union.

I used to work with auto mechanics that were in a union and some of them did not want to be. They thought they wouldve been better off not paying the Union dues.

I can almost guarantee they were better off in the union but these guys seemed mostly Republican.
