For family I’ve been pushing Bazaar. Depending on distro, discover can be lacking on integration. Updating some packages but not others. If your distro does flatpak, and it does. It’s click bang done most of the time. No PPAs, or several user/community repos to cock you up randomly.
Personally I like native and rolling release. But I’ve been using Linux for 30 plus years. When you just need it to work and be a relatively recent release. Can’t argue with results.

Yep. Purely for interface simplicity mint is gonna feel a lot more familiar to people fleeing windows. Yes Ubuntu can install the same DE or even KDE. But it’s not the default. And that confuses people.

Debian. But even then, a lot of things are built around and specific to Ubuntu. There is a difference enough of one to be often inconvenient. And with Ubuntu pushing things like their rust tools Etc it’s only going to get worse.

This shit is really getting out of hand. But that was always a given considering the uneducated and hyperbolic panic being stirred up around this. Brodie of course I think has a solid response. This should served as a constant reminder how easy it is for anyone to be manipulated.

She was a great ambassador in the tech space. Her last couple of videos were some of the most personal ones she did. And her criticisms were very mild. But the government can’t acknowledge their failures or tolerate any criticism. Considering the vulnerable situations of her and her partner. Both being members of minority groups groups the CCP oppresses and targets. Her stepping back was necessary for their safety. Though fortunately there have been a few that have visited the region and spoken to her since the government threats. She’s getting by with her maker skills etc. But considering the active cultural genocide. I don’t look to see her making content for sometime if ever again. Unless there’s a massive change in government.
She could have been a wonderful representative for her country and done a lot to dismiss a lot of the criticisms they receive. Instead, their treatment of her confirmed many of the criticism they receive.
Honestly in a lot of ways that’s kind of what it’s like. Discover but woth a central unified Repository for all distros.
