I know it’s been asked too much, but we’ve come a long way. Curious to see everything from the fullest trajectories/journeys to short wacky simples.
Why your instance, platform? What keeps you there? Are you a piefed PWA enjoyer? A traditional browser lemmy diehard? Do you refuse to use any front-end that isn’t blorpblorp or has some invaluable feature like tesseract/alexandrite? I think there are even a few who only mobile voyager or ??(whatever that other popular one is…apollo maybe?) Curious to know what future options lie on the near future’s horizon too
I admit I have trialed many but go back to plain browser more than not tho 😆
PS: I can’t remember if these posts in anyway get federated out to other platforms like mastodon or what not, but would still be interested in their respective answers too

Fediverse because no big tech and/or no profit driven/informed platform management.
Instance: [email protected] because “:3” (read: non hostile environment for LGBTQIA+)
Access: through browser, both on smartphone and PC.
Fediscroll: when I feel lonely ( [email protected] ) or inspired ( [email protected] ) or want to learn something ( [email protected] , [email protected] , [email protected] )

Browser solidarity! C reigns supreme, but don’t make me do pointer arithmetic. I’d rather do pointless long-division lol What’s the preferred ide for C these days? I’m the ‘compile and run inside nvim instance’ kind of goober
Yeah, browsers nowadays are so powerful, I’d go as far as to say that if you don’t game and don’t do some niche production stuff requiring specific software, you could make do with just a browser: file management, word processing, spread sheets, media consumption, video calls, chats, etc…
I’m a complete beginner at C but I really like that I chose it as my first language to learn. I don’t use any fancy IDE 😅 when outside, I code on an rooted Galaxy Tab A9+ in Termux in vim and compile with
clang. At home, I write on my PC in vim and compile withgcc. You can view my posts over at [email protected] if you want to see how much of a beginner I am. 😅Do you have a god-tier .vimrc or nahh?
Edit: oh, and I of course use a robust stand to get good viewing angle on the tablet and a mechanical USB keyboard (Deltaco WK90B). This is basically my idea of an ultra portable “laptop”. 😂
Seems like I keep referring to my posts but in all seriousness, speaking of packing serious hear, I just posted some shit about fiddling with power management on my tablet. Short story: it worked. Check it out if you’re interested, ジンさん。
If by god-tier you mean adding
colorscheme industryso that I can read stuff on semitransparent black terminals, then yes. 😂I had an intense ricing obsession way back when, and I have sadly sold my colorscheme soul to the solarized math wizards. You now have me exceptionally curious about a mathematically superior semitransparentj-specific solarized theme 🤔
Joke’s on Samsung: I’m not updating my tablet anymore 😂 my threat model doesn’t really require me to keep up to date with security patches either. As it says in the posts, I’ll do some testing next week. ✌️
Well I’ll be damned, it does look great: https://ethanschoonover.com/solarized/
