Costco has introduced a small but seismic update to its famous $1.50 hot dog combo, marking the first significant change to the meal’s composition in more than 40 years.
Costco now allows customers to substitute a 16.9-ounce bottle of Kirkland Signature water for the traditional 20-ounce fountain soda. While the pairing has evolved, the price — which has remained a flat $1.50 since the 1980s — remains firmly intact.
Dude, don’t scare me like that!
Clickbait garbage.
The pop machines dispense ice cold carbonated water…
I echo the sentiment here. Any change to the sacred $1.50 Costco hotdog price is tantamount to a declaration of war.
So help me God, if they decrease the current proportion of hog anus in the hot dog, I will riot.
I want at least 15% sow twat in my polish dog.
Is it not beef where you are?
You’ve been able to do that at the one I go to in Canada for awhile now.
Wait a minute, they used to use some kosher dog awhile back and it wasn’t 40 years ago.
Honestly I think the water is a better deal. You get a resealable bottle in the bargain. Fountain soda is mid, water is better for you anyway.
Worse for planet
And for our health. Reusing plastic drink bottles not only exposes people to move micro plastics and chemicals, but plastic is porous. Even with regular washing, bacteria can leech into these pores overtime and be almost impossible to remove.
Plastics are some of the worst things we have created as a species.
Fair
Last time I was there, I’m pretty sure I put water in my fountain cup – from the little tab dispenser next to the lemonade. It is nice, fresh filtered water.
I like to do 75% Seltzer and 25% Lemonaide. It’s fizzy, refreshing, and not too sweet.
But yes, similarly, you can get Seltzer with the little side tab on one of the taps, usually Sprite I think.

The hot dog will still be $1.50, but the bun will cost $6.00, condiments for $1.00 and a drink for $2.00 .
