Intentionally vague use of “emergency situation” to encourage people to share. If you handle emergency situations as a profession, what’s a particularly interesting one.

My cat caught my house on fire in February. She was jumping around in the middle of the night and turned on the stove before knocking a Tupperware onto it. I woke up choking on smoke. I could have totally died because my fire detector didn’t go off. Only time having fucked up lungs has come in handy.

Called the fire department and the first dude showed up in two minutes. Turns out he lives like 6 houses down from me.

Thankfully the damage was minimal and all of my pets and I were fine. I don’t own a stove/oven anymore though lol. I didn’t use the thing anyway. I cook w/ my microwave, an air fryer, and slow cooker. I have a countertop oven as well if I need it. My aunt got my stove to replace hers, so everything worked out. Got a big portable dishwasher to go where the stove was and it’s great.
