but, what if instead of lowering the amount of food production to match what you said, we just outlaw throwing still good food out, and instead enforce a donation style regulation where leftover food that is still safe to eat must be donated or given, not wasted.
Like I used to watch the dunkin employee at the store I used to work at throw away dozens of perfectly fine doughnuts daily, or the bagels that wern’t used. It’s so wasteful for something that could have easily just been set outside as a “free for the taking” and then anything that wasn’t taken can then be tossed the next morning.
No establishment does it because they know it would likely lower their customers, cause they would just wait for closing. but at least then its not wasting it all.
