Clarification: it was a qualification race, not an F1 style qualifying. The accident occurred relatively early in the race when the cars of that group were still bunched up. From what I’ve seen in other reports, the cause was an oil spill. I didn’t see any report that indicated negligence on the side of the marshals or so.

That was a horrible crash, apparently caused by an oil spill on a part of the track where they do around 220kmh.
