the KIDS act may or may not pass the US senate, the EU is planning a social media ban, chat control might pass, etc… what exactly do i have to do to prep for all this?

    Unless your prep includes “fight against it politically, tooth and nail,” you’re only delaying the inevitable.

    There is no such thing as a technological solution to what is fundamentally a political problem. Ultimately, the fascists pushing this shit have to be destroyed or they will destroy us.

      The politics can’t control the tech. We just route around their laws. The internet is global and outside their justification

        But it isn’t. The internet is a bunch of interconnected computers right, the infrastructure that connects them can very well be victim of political maneuvers. The beginning of the internet as we know it had to do with politics, and it was funded in part through politics. That’s not gonna stop just know that it took off.

        And politics can absolutely control the tech, like for the bans on selling GPUs to China.

        You need to learn the difference between a workaround and a solution.

        Also, don’t try to pretend that a normal person is going to live as an outlaw just so they can avoid enshittification. Most people will comply, and society as a whole – which includes you, even if you don’t comply yourself! – will suffer for it.
