I’m half and half. Agreed that it’s fucked up, particularly if they’re actually talking about millennials and not gen Z.
But I disagree in principle about student debt. It’s a valid tradeoff to make (between getting a job straight out of highschool and going to college to open up better paying careers), and I wouldn’t have any problems with student loans if tuition were still reasonable.
I’d say the bigger problem is the structure of the economy. College is supposed to unlock a lot of “grownup jobs”. That breaks when you actually only have McJobs available after that big college investment.
