In the server space, both FreeBSD and Linux systems are well-regarded.
Linux caught up since that post and receives more support now, obviously, but I wouldn’t flinch when encountering FreeBSD (or other *BSDs for that matter) as a server.
As for Windows… yeah, just look at the news regarding that…
