I can’t even get easily accessible mental healthcare under my employers insurance (UHC). I tried calling the in network GP line and they said mental health services are technically out of network under my plan. So I use UHCs “find a provider” section on their dogshit website. One result, I call the number, it’s disconnected.

I widen my search, sift away the counselors with shitty reviews, find a couple that could be an ok match. More disconnected numbers, and the only number that wasn’t disconnected just dumps me into a voicemail. God I fucking hate it so much. UHC really, really doesn’t want people seeking out mental healthcare.

mental care seems very tricky for any insurance in general. the ones in my area is very hesitent to refer to these professionals and prescribe the meds, since they can be abused/trafficked they require extra authorization.
