The devs are aware of this
IIRC they said that SABR is slowly being rolled out and DASH phased out. instead of waiting they decided to tackle this head on. I’m 50/50 having no problems for a few videos then getting stuck in this trap.
It’s community as weird and niche like that that’s hard to find or start and maintain on the threadiverse¹ that I miss from reddit.

4·7 days agoIt’s baffling how the Japanese brands just fumble electrifying the kei car class. Seriously Toyota, Honda and Suzuki has a strong foothold in my country but the fucked up and conceded to the flood of Chinese EVs. I mean I’m glad that we have the choice of cheaper EV from the Chinese but it’s still kind of sad personally to me.
5·8 days agoAw geez, wish I can help more. But IMO the dev is very aware of this. IIRC when 5.2.4, this current latest version, dropped, I remember seeing in-app popup pointing to that GitHub issue that the dev opened.
Could be related to this issue.
I can corroborate that when I turn off my custom DNS it works swimmingly, until YouTube figured out to block my IP again.
4·9 days agotbf as a kid I sometimes chew on aluminium foil wrapper of candies (back when they wrap some candies in aluminium) to extract the last dregs of candy. so I kind of can empathize lol

catbox.moe works too. Although files uploaded anonymously that have not had a download/hit in over 2 years will be removed from Catbox.. which is weird that was not the default since the beginning considering they’re not like other image hosting sites size and funding.
people are willing/able to be open and empathetic
personally, I’ve been bitten too many times being open to random people and getting vitriol back. Well that may be because at the height of my online activities were in reddit, just at the right moment when it started gaining mass traction and getting all sorts of assholes.
being here in lemmy/piefed (can we settle on calling it threadiverse yet?) is of course a nice breath of fresh air.

Yeah I’m part of the chicken and egg problem we have here but that’s just super hard work for me
