Yeah, I’m not thinking banning porn will do a better job addressing that issue than actually educating the young men about how to have positive relationships with women.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Which countries would you never visit if you were a leftist journalist?
28·2 days agoThat’s kind of going against the point of being a journalist. If a journalist opposes what a country is doing, the thing they can do about it is to go to that country and report on what’s happening.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How quick are you to block someone on Lemmy?
6·3 days agoSo far I’ve only had to block a few people whose behavior made me concerned for their mental health. Otherwise this place doesn’t really have enough activity for people to “get away” with harassing others, so it’s not much of a concern.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•When do Americans actually do the taxes? On January 1? Or do y'all like procrastinate till April 15?
6·3 days agoThe issue is you have to wait to get your tax docs in the mail. I got my W-2s (proof of wages/income from employment) sometime in mid-January, and I filed my state and federal taxes 3rd week of January.
However, my municipal taxes require me to receive a paper from them through the mail. I didn’t get it until march. It had errors (as usual), and I’ve just been like, I’m not dealing with that. Last year it was also months late because I didn’t want to deal with them.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is having dual citizenship a good or bad thing?
161·3 days agoThere is no dispute in rescues. Whoever is there first can take them. That’s just practicality. You’re not going to leave your own citizen there when you’re there for a rescue. Outside of that context, you’re subject to the laws of the nation you’re standing in.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Despite all the AI nonsense happening right now, I have a simple question. Do you feel valued? From one human to another.
6·5 days agoI feel like the most worthless person in the world, generally and almost all of the time. Consequence of not getting along well with others plus not being hardworking enough to achieve anything.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why don't employers pay people in Bitcoins?
5·5 days agoIn the US you’re legally required to pay in USD. That’s because during the 1900s, many people used to be paid in company currency that could only be spent at company stores. This gave the company a monopoly over their salary, allowing the company to drive up prices, drive workers into debt, and keep workers in such a poor financial state that the workers were unable to leave the company.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Straight people, would you date a non-binary person?
191·5 days agoI was never interested in dating anyone queer while I was looking. it’s not the kind of relationship I’m looking for. I more want a regular guy who wants to be the dad and who will likewise let me be the mom. new boyfriend is like that and we’re happily getting to know each other.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What blue collar job has the largest cool factor?
9·6 days agoI think glass makers are pretty cool. Casually risk 3rd degree burns every day.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Imagine the US holding a "Cost-of-living crisis" protest of 100+ million. Even the army and police protest. You are tasked with making *the* list of demands. What would be on this list?
02·6 days agoThe issue is that the solution is a large increase in the minimum wage, more regulation over the healthcare industry, and a lot more taxes on the rich. 40% of the population have been brainwashed into believing the solution is a bad thing.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do you think strict two child policy should be a thing?
1·12 days agoLiterally zero way to enforce it without being cruel.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Stuck between living in America, China, or Japan... Which would you choose?
1·14 days agoif you stay in a foreign country for 10+ years, your neighbors, shop keepers, etc. will get used to you. but really, the deciding factor in whether anyone can move to a foreign country is the work available to them. if you don’t get a good job, with reasonable hours, probably with an international company, good luck making it work.
I am in fact supposed to be working more than 8 hours/day.
