I’ve always been dyslexic with lefts and rights, or perhaps their names? Even now I have to catch myself most of the time when I say the wrong one.

I’m a little bad with numbers, that got worse after a head injury, so now I frequently confuse 6s and 8s in addition to the usual ‘was it 2493 or 2349?’ kinda things. As long as I double check my numbers I can do math right, but if it’s just a number sequence, they get a little mixed up.

Mines very mild though, and I’ve met/seen people that take a solid minute or two to parse it when they’re corrected.

I know a “NEET of 8 years” who basically won’t try at anything because of this. I kind of feel like its an excuse to be lazy, but I can’t say for sure.

That could go either way. I’ve heard (from family or friends) of people that have it so severely, they can’t trust themselves enough to accurately read.

That said, it could also be an easy excuse to avoid trying, but ultimately without consulting or being diagnosed by an expert, you only have their word to go on as to the severity.

My biggest concern would be the zombies contaminating the water with whatever virus/poison/venom that makes zombies. Even if they’re visible, the moment they touch water, I’d already be scared to drink.

Not arguing, but I don’t think I’ve ever even seen a plastic one. Mine has a plastic lid, but the inside is still sheet metal. I can’t even imagine one with plastic parts that aren’t just cosmetic. Plus they’ve got to adhere to some kind of safety regulations lest they be penalized by some federal agency. 🤔

This! But mine is just a pitcher with a filter in the lid. Stick it in the fridge to keep cool, use it to fill backup bottles.

I started with a Nelko one for $20-ish, but they have a free/paid system where you don’t get all the stickers/fonts unless you pay a yearly fee. Next one I’m looking at is this one that specifically advertises no mtx.

Ultimately the main thing you want is a laser printer with thermal paper. Won’t print in color, but it’s much less hassle without ink carts and the only thing you’ll need to replace is sticker rolls.

Electric kettle. Fast at boiling water, especially if your stove heats slowly. Great for things like tea or instant noodles/lunches.

Portable Bluetooth label maker. Not a necessity, but you can use it outside of typical application for lots of fun things!

Obligatory not a fix for everyone but:

I’ve read that drinking cold milk helps keep you cooler than drinking cold water. Something about the electrolytes in the milk making it digest more slowly?

This is only a short-term fix obviously, and only if you enjoy drinking milk, but it’s an option.

I like that lemmy is more international than reddit was/is, and so we get more viewpoints on different events.

I don’t like how slack some community moderators are. There are too many communities that allow too wide a variety. I saw a post in mentalhealth.world that was a political complaint that didn’t have any relevance to mental health, and the one commenter who tried to call that fact out got harassed by the OP.

I don’t like how xenophobic a lot of users here are. I’ve seen a lot of users attack others over things individuals can’t control. Hating citizens of XYZ nation rather than their politicians/leaders.

Not every Russian is evil. Not every American is evil. Not every British, Hungarian, Isreali, etc. Yes the people have the majority, but most regular citizens are just as scared of their government as anyone.

Yeah there’s people that support their government to delusional degrees, but a lot of what I’m referring to is umbrella’d as, ‘your leader is still in power so you must be a baddie.’ It’s not just on .ml either, it’s on .zip, piefed, .world, all of them. I personally have been treated as a trump-loving ice-supporter or otherwise complicit, just for saying I’m American.

As another said, can’t remember the last time I cried for myself. I know and understand a lot of the reasons for a bunch of things, but also come to accept that I can’t do anything about many of them. Usually just swear and move on with it.

In the case that someone offends me or attacks me or my beliefs, I only get angry and tell them to fuck off for eternity. I don’t do forgive and forget, I remember and resent.

Heartfelt stuff in shows and movies can make me tear up, but I haven’t ugly cried in like 5ish years when life shat all over me and spit in my mouth. Doing better now but I imagine it would take something big to make me cry again.
