Yeah it’s a lot, I’m trying to do it once per week, driving the rest, but it takes a big chunk of my day. My job is unfortunately 25 miles or so by car because it’s pretty niche and I wanted to get a house near my dad when he was sick. So 1.5-2 hours of commuting by car or 3-4 by bike is where I’m at.
Then again, when I look back, I’m always the least healthy and least happy when I’m driving the most.
I got an ebike because I wasn’t confident I could commute to work on a regular bike and having the assist option helped me stress less. Biking takes my commute from ~1:40 per day to 4 on a slow day, but it’s a pretty enjoyable 4 hours and I can play the game of seeing how little battery I can use
Sounds liberating! You did it the installs yourself or through contractors? How many years do you reckon it takes for that scale of solar to pay for itself?
It’s not just financial though. Mississippi spends around $12k per student, and Oregon spends about $17k - that’s over 40% more per kid. California spends $24k. The way we do schools needs to be fixed top-to-bottom

The anxiety about our climate sucks, man, sorry. Definitely not enough places for kids. I go for walks with my daughter sometimes. Library isn’t a bad option either
I dm’ed for a family game (adult sibs and in-laws), thinking it’d be the easiest to schedule. Nope, I got tired of nagging about the next game, couldn’t help but interpret it as them not caring enough, and now just listen to naddpod and wait for my kids to grow up enough to play. I miss the table
Turnout in Massie’s primary jumped to like 30 something percent of the district. He actually gained primary voters this year, but was swamped. I’m guessing hyper targeted ads got out the vote against him. That or fraud
