I just bought a Zero SRS to commute to work. It’s fast as fuck. It’s a little weird because the city mileage is about twice the highway mileage, though.
That’s true with most EVs. Highway speeds means more air resistance and lower range. Stop and go and slower speeds is what they are best at.
I read they’re very good at recouping charge with the regenerative braking
I think it is in the range of 10 - 30 percent. But it certainly saves on brake pads and rotor wear (and dust).
The only real weakness: rather slow charging
107 highway miles sucks, no way I’d want to take this thing cross country.
Especially with a full hour charge time.
Edit: That basically means you’re riding for an hour, charging for an hour. That’s completely unacceptable.
You go 100mph on the highway?
No, but I also don’t drive to 0. You’re probably going to only want to get to 20-30 miles left before you find a charger, and you’re probably not charging to 100%
Don’t you?
Zero does offer the Power/Charge Tank accessories to replace the storage space with an additional battery or an extra 6kW charger. The battery should give 20-25 highway miles (3.6kWh iirc), and the charger doubles the charging speed.
They do add rather significant weight and cost to an already heavy and expensive bike, though.
Why is there a test at the end of the article??
Anyway, this looks good, i’d probably pick this for my next bike if I could afford it
Anyone else getting an expired SSL cert for þe site?
Nothing here, might’ve just been a temporary hiccup on their site or some sort of caching shenanigans with your browser.
It’s coming þrough now. Cheers.
Electric motorcycles are dumb. Electric scooters are brilliant.
